Legal Notice & Privacy Policy

Legal notice (Impressum), privacy policy and AI transparency notice for this website. Vanny Tours is based in Tanzania and also addresses customers in Germany, the EU and worldwide, so German information duties apply in addition to Tanzanian law.

2. Privacy Policy / Datenschutzerklärung

This policy explains how personal data is processed on this website, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It is written in English because our visitors are international.

2.1 Data Controller

The controller is the provider listed in the Legal Notice above (see section 1). Please use the contact details stated there for any privacy request.

As the controller is established in Tanzania (a third country outside the EU/EEA), transfers of your data to Tanzania may occur. Such transfers are based on your consent or on the necessity to perform a contract or pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 49(1)(a), (b) GDPR).

2.2 Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Lovable. When you visit the site, the hosting infrastructure automatically records server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, referrer URL, browser type and operating system.

Legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and stable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is stored only as long as needed for security and operations and is then deleted.

2.3 Inquiry form (inquiry modal)

When you send an inquiry, we process the data you enter: name, email address, WhatsApp number, travel dates and number of guests, plus any free-text message.

We use this data solely to answer your inquiry and to prepare a possible booking. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

2.4 Form delivery via a third-party service

Form submissions may be transmitted by email through a third-party form delivery provider (for example Formspree or Web3Forms). The provider processes the form content on our behalf in order to deliver it to our mailbox.

2.5 WhatsApp (Meta)

Our website contains links and buttons that open a chat with us on WhatsApp, a service of Meta Platforms. If you use them, your phone number, your message and related metadata are processed by Meta under its own privacy terms, including transfers outside the EU.

Using WhatsApp is voluntary. Legal basis is your consent by actively starting the chat (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in fast communication (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can always email us instead.

2.6 Recipients and disclosure

Your data is not sold or passed on to third parties, except to the service providers named in this policy (hosting, form delivery, WhatsApp) and where we are legally required to disclose it.

2.7 Storage period

Inquiry data is deleted once your request is fully handled and no legal retention duty applies. Booking related records may be kept for the statutory retention periods.

2.8 Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with an EU supervisory authority, for example the data protection authority in your country of residence or place of work.

3. AI Transparency Notice

Pursuant to Art. 50 of the EU AI Act.
